Warm traditions and magic: mos.ru presents the Winter in Moscow program
The program for the Winter in Moscow project, which will be held from December 1, 2025 to February 28, 2026, has been published on the mos.ru website. This season, more than 800 events will be organized at more than 400 venues in different districts. Among them will be tastings of unusual dishes, charity events, theatrical performances, creative workshops, film screenings, tours and much more. Preserving traditions and creating new ones
This winter, the capital will turn into a single festive space where everyone can find something to do, discover new hobbies, and spend time with family and friends. Winter in Moscow will unite people of different generations and interests, creating an atmosphere of warmth, kindness, mutual help and joy.
Here new traditions will be born and old ones will return, such as gatherings with friends, family walks and photos by the decorated Christmas trees, skating and sliding down ice slides, and much more. Familiar city spaces will become community areas, and each event will be part of a unified winter story.
Winter in Moscow will present new adventures and emotions to both young citizens and their parents. Children will be able to attend puppet shows and performances with their favorite fairy tale characters, visit the house of Ded Moroz, the Department of Magic and the workshop of New Year’s miracles. Adults will observe the work of professional chefs and pastry chefs at master classes, create their own culinary masterpieces and discover unusual delicacies at tasting events. There will be ice rinks and ski tracks for winter sports enthusiasts. Professional instructors will provide training for everyone.
Visitors will be able to choose a gift for themselves and their loved ones at the New Year souvenir fairs and the Made in Moscow pavilions, where the capital’s entrepreneurs will present their own original products.
And photos taken against the backdrop of garlanded trees, decorative arches, art installations and festive compositions will help to keep impressions of Moscow at New Year alive in people’s memories.
Share warmth and support
The focus of the Winter in Moscow project is on values, mutual aid and love for the Motherland. A program of events has been built around these values, which will demonstrate that the capital city cares for people and respects the history of Russia. Patriotic meetings, educational and volunteer programs, themed exhibitions and readings of national works will be organized for visitors.
Special attention will be paid to supporting participants in and veterans of the special military operation and their families, as well as all those who provide assistance to the front. Humanitarian aid collection events and concerts, and charitable initiatives and targeted programs will be held to support them.
The capital’s entrepreneurs and companies will help to organize the holiday and will participate in the events. They will decorate their facilities to mark the New Year. Businesses can receive grants through the city’s contest for the best-decorated premises. In addition, as per tradition, Moscow residents will be able to take advantage of holiday promotions and discounts.
Puppet shows and night rides
From December 12, 2025 to January 11, 2026, the traditional Journey to Christmas festival will take place. There will be theatrical performances, children’s puppet shows, a themed concert program and much more. The city’s food courts will present a special menu. Participants in creative master classes will be able to make Christmas tree decorations, unique designer cards, wrap gifts like a professional or join in the creation of a short New Year’s film, Night Gift Express.
The Moskino Film Park will host a special fairy-tale program all winter long. Children and adults will be able to attend master classes on movie production and meetings with bloggers, try hot drinks and other treats, and take pictures in photo zones based on famous movies.
The Moscow Estates Winter Festival will take place from December 1, 2025 to February 28. Visitors will be able to experience the atmosphere of 19 th Century Moscow. The cultural program includes theatrical performances and lectures, traditional noble games, excursions and much more. There will be workshops to create vintage-style gifts. A new route, Moscow Estates, has been prepared for walkers.

The 4 th Winter Festival will be held in the Zaryadye Concert Hall from December 2 to 31. Visitors will be able to attend about 50 events with famous performers, including concerts, children’s interactive performances, and chamber music evenings.
It will be possible to play the role of a magician at the Caring City charity festival, which will be held on December 6–7 on Bolotnaya Square. Visitors will learn about the activities of non-profit organizations and foundations, visit a fair with products made by the people these organizations care for, where they can buy souvenirs. There will be performances at the skating rink and photo shoots with fairy tale characters.
Young guests are welcome at the Moscow estate of Ded Moroz in the Kuzminki-Lyublino museum-reserve, where they will be able to visit the Department of Magic, the headquarters of snowmen and the workshop of New Year’s miracles, as well as personally meet the chief winter wizard.
Ice shows and gift fair
From November 25, 2025 to March 1, 2026, VDNKh will have a large ice skating rink with holiday programs, dance parties, morning exercises, night skating and a charity day. In addition, a New Year’s fair will be organized for visitors. The New Year’s Eve program will include street performances, skaters, DJ sets and a fabulous ice ballet on the skating rink.
The territory of the Palace of Pioneers on Sparrow Hills will be one of the central sites of Winter in Moscow. Here, from December 10, 2025 to February 28, 2026, there will be two ski tracks and a free skating rink with an area of four thousand square meters. In addition, the venue will host cooking and creative workshops, as well as a light show. In the holiday fair all visitors will be able to choose handmade designer gifts for themselves and their loved ones.
The capital’s parks, yards and festival grounds will have skating rinks. Skaters can book a convenient place and time on a special web page.
The rinks will also host ice shows, plays and concerts. For example, on December 1 there will be a theatrical production, Gzhel, in 850-letiya Moskvy Park. On the same day, the skating rink in Nikulino Park will be transformed into an improvised stage for the ice show Ice and Flame. On December 5 at the skating rink in Zyablikovo district there will be an ice performance based on the movie The Magicians.
Winter in Moscow is the main event of the season. The project is aimed at strengthening community and family ties, creating an atmosphere of unity, mutual support, welcome, and festive celebration. With a wide variety of programs including cultural, educational and sporting events, it unites Moscow residents and visitors to the capital of all ages and with different interests, creating conditions for creative development, active recreation and warm communication in the cold season.
