Mobile teams to monitor taxi parking
Mobile teams from the Moscow Administrative Road Inspection Office will report taxi parking violators about violators to the state traffic police. Violators face fines and towing.

The mobile traffic inspectors began monitoring the legal taxi parking  spaces on Moscow’s central streets in September. They report illegal parking to the traffic police.

There are three teams operating on Tverskaya, Petrovka and other central streets. The area around Belorussky Railway Station is under special supervision. The teams are from the Moscow Administrative Road Inspection Office  (MADI) and the public organisation, Officers of Russia. Unlike MADI inspectors  on foot, they drive from car park to car park.

Taxi parking areas can only be used by legal taxi companies or carriers. The cars must include an orange roof light, checkered graphics and other signs.

Parking under road sign 5.18 "Taxi Parking Lot" is punishable by a fine of up to 3,000 roubles. If the driver is not present, the car will be towed.
