Moscow-based companies conclude export contracts for the supply of ice cream on international electronic trading platforms, as well as through participation in business missions.

To mark World Ice Cream Day, experts report on the Russian capital’s achievements in developing exports of the popular frozen dessert. These successes are made possible by unique recipes, state-of-the-art production methods and effective branding.

Moscow’s supplies of ice cream to international markets from the CIS to Asian countries are booming. In 2024, ice cream produced in the Russian capital was exported to 18 friendly countries: Belarus, Uzbekistan, China, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Abkhazia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Senegal, Armenia, Israel, Nigeria, the United Arab Emirates, Vietnam and Saudi Arabia. The biggest importers of ice cream from Moscow were Belarus (35 percent), Uzbekistan (25.9 percent) and China (9.7 percent).

In 2024, companies from the capital exported 39 percent more ice cream than in the previous year. This indicates that an increasing number of foreign buyers are growing to appreciate Moscow-made ice cream.

Thus, thanks to the city’s focus on the placement and promotion of goods made by Moscow exporters on international electronic trading platforms, a number of contracts for the supply of ice cream have been concluded.

With the support of the Moscow Export Center (MEC), BRPI JSC has placed its products on the B2B platform 1688.com and concluded a contract for the supply of ice cream to China. Amore Ltd. exported sorbets and ice cream to the UAE under a contract signed after it participated in the Gulfood exhibition. Its participation was organized by the MEC, which supports the capital’s entrepreneurs. Top Food Ltd. has signed a contract with partners from Belarus for the supply of ice cream thanks to its participation in a business mission.

The Mosprom Center for Support of Export, Industry and Investment Activity also assists suppliers in entering foreign markets. Its experts help producers find counterparties, negotiate with potential buyers abroad and participate in international exhibitions and business missions. In addition, the center’s specialists analyze the target audience for manufacturers’ products, including custom-made goods, to determine the most effective strategy for the company’s entry into foreign markets. Thus, on September 2–4, 2024, an international business mission for enterprises of the agro-industrial sector, organized by the Mosprom center, was held in China. As a result of its participation in the event, BRPI JSC signed an export contract with a large distribution company for the supply of ice cream under the Natasha and Brand Ice brands. The total shipment was 66 pallets, or three 10-foot containers.

Moscow continues to strengthen its position in the international arena not only as a business and cultural center, but also as a producer of tasty food that wins fans all over the world.

Exports from Moscow enterprises to the Middle East and North Africa have increased by more than a quarter

The Moscow Export Center was established by the Moscow City Government to provide the city’s entrepreneurs with financial and non-financial support measures aimed at promoting the goods and services of Moscow-based entities in foreign markets. One of the key objectives of the MEC is to increase the number of exporters in the capital and develop their revenue.
