The two days will feature interactive shows and workshops, as well as opportunities to meet prominent film personalities.

The Anthem of Moscow will be played on Red Square giving the official start of City Day festivities. The ceremony, which is scheduled for noon, will be broadcast at all the city’s main venues.

Russian students will march in a parade on Poklonnaya Gora on 10 September. The procession will start at 10 am. Hundreds of thousands of young people are expected to participate. The parade will be followed by an initiation ceremony for first-year students and the gala “We Are Responsible for the Future!”. Another concert will close out the evening.
More concerts are planned for this venue on 11 September, with performances by winners and runners-up of the Music in the City, Music in Metro and Heat competitions Sasha Spielberg, Alina Os, Stas More, Alexander Lir, The Davinchies, LiLosi, Xena, Asya Pivovarova, Kosmax Band and many others. Another concert will kick off at 5 pm, featuring legends of the 1980s-1990s: Kai Metov, Jasmine, Yuta, Alexander Buinov, Vyaheslav Bykov, Balagan Limited and Premyer Ministr.
There will also be a motor show exhibition for those interested.

Popular songs from films will be played on Gorky Park’s main stage, while a real film set, cinema school and children’s animation studio will be located at the fountain square, where everyone will be able to try their hand.
Remue Menage, a street theatre from France, will perform “Legends of the Wind”, while the Stanislavsky Electrotheatre will put on the “Life as Film” electric cabaret, a unique stage performance mixing old-school music hits with shots from modern films.
Actors Anatoly Bely, Dmitry Nazarov and others will recite poems as part of the Cinopoetry project, while musician Alexei Kortnev and the Samara band will perform songs about Moscow.
On 11 September, the park will host the Moscow Holidays concert featuring popular composer Eduard Artemyev.
Other activities await visitors as well. A charity run, a quest and an autograph signing will also be held at the Gorky Park.

The traditional Kind Moscow Festival will be held on Tsvetnoy Bulvar, with workshops and handmade stuffed toys, clay dishware, woven items and more. Original accessories and clothes will be on sale at a special venue.
The main stage will be set in the green zone of the alley. The concert will feature Mitya Fomin, Vakhtang, Irakly, Premyer Ministr, Moya Mishel and others. An area with educational and entertainment activities will be set up for kids.

There is no better place for lovers of Mikhail Bulgakov than the Patriarchy Ponds. The famed writer was known to love music, and Straus waltzes and folk songs found their way in his works. On 10 and 11 September, Russian actors will gather by the Krylov monument to read, sing and talk about the music that influenced the great writer.

The concert Immortal Music for the Immortal City will take place on the Teatralnaya Square featuring the best hits by Tamara Gverdtsiteli, Khibla Gerzmava, Dmitry Malikov, Yevgeny Kungurov, Pelageya and Quatro.

The programme Touring Moscow will run for two days offering Muscovites over 200 free walking excursions that will take them around the city centre to obscure alleys and streets. Visitors will be able to see old estates and learn about the lives and works of great writers and poets who lived in Moscow. Guides will include local experts in Moscow history and architects.
