Visitors will be offered dozens of exciting events, from immersive shows to concerts and meetings with famous actors, musicians, directors and artists.

The winter entertainment program will kick off at the Moskino Cinema Park on December 14. It will include New Year guided tours and performances by artists, adventure games and art masterclasses. The Journey to Christmas venue and the Moscow Tea Party photo booth will open to Moscow residents and visitors, said Natalya Sergunina, Deputy Moscow Mayor.

The program is part of the Winter in Moscow large-scale project, bringing together all seasonal events from December 1 to February 28.

“The cinema park program includes dozens of events, from immersive shows to concerts and meetings with famous actors, musicians, directors and artists. The city will open a skating rink and a snow-tubing slide with 68 and 48 meter-long beds for active recreation fans,” said Natalya Sergunina.

The central square will get a skating rink accommodating up to 150 people. Visitors will be able to rent skates. The Fairytale Park will feature a ski trail along a picturesque route 1,500 meters long. Its opening depends on the weather.

History buffs are invited to the multimedia show Cathedral Square directed by Eduard Boyakov with more than 40 actors and stunt performers involved. The story is based on the Time of Troubles events, the Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky people’s militia and the expulsion of Polish invaders from Moscow. The project features light and video projections to show the architecture of the time on the cinema park’s set. The show will run on Saturdays and Sundays from December 21 to February 23 (05:00 p. m. and 06:30 p. m.).

On December 14, 15, 21, 22, 28 and 29 (02:00 p. m.), the public will be shown Igor Ugolnikov’s production Moscow Speaking! Battle of Moscow. First Victory. It will be dedicated to the counteroffensive of Soviet troops near Moscow, which began on December 5, 1941. The project uses both computer and graphic technology, newsreels and real military equipment: tanks, guns and aircraft from the Vadim Zadorozhny Vehicle Museum and the Voenfilm Studio.

People are encouraged to visit a Journey to Christmas festival venue on December 14–15, 19–22, and January 1–12 to buy Christmas tree decorations and original souvenirs and also attend art masterclasses. Their participants will learn about the process of filming movies and cartoons, develop their acting skills, write New Year greetings and make decorative items and dishes.

Its participants will see the sets of the Ivan the Great Bell Tower and the Terem Palace of the Moscow Kremlin, the historical streets of Berlin and also a real Tu−154 airliner. Moscow residents and visitors will be told about ancient New Year traditions and the secrets of filming iconic films.

Some events require an entrance ticket. The full program and entry rules are available on the website of the Moskino Cinema Park.

The Winter in Moscow project is the highlight of the season, boasting more than 1,900 venues. Moscow residents and visitors are invited to warm up with tea, go skating, skiing, tubing, watch ice shows and help people in trouble.
