The Mansions of Moscow festival is named the best in the country, and the Moscow Zoo gained recognition in the public space category.

Moscow hosted the Russian Traveler Awards gala where the Mansions of Moscow was announced the best in the country, its competitors including festivals in Ryazan, Arkhangelsk, Nizhny Novgorod Region, etc. The Moscow Zoo won the Russian Traveler Awards as the best public space.

The Mansions of Moscow started in 2023, its 3rd edition having set a record both in terms of duration and scale.

The festival was visited by over 700,000 people, which is 1.6 times more than in the two previous years all together. This year it offered more than 3,000 events, e.g., masquerades, theatrical performances, symphonic music concerts and musicals in the scenery of old estates, historical picnics, outdoor games of gorodki, badminton and serso sessions. Last season, it involved 40 mansions; the attendance of some of them increased several times year-on-year, as a result.

The winter Mansions of Moscow festival can still be visited today as it is running December 1, 2024 until February 28, 2025 as part of the Winter in Moscow project. It embraces 19 historical sites across the city, including the Petrovsky Palace (also known as Petroff Palace), Bauman Garden, the Vorontsovo, Lyublino and Sviblovo mansions, for visitors to travel back in time, attend a ball in the manor park, and enjoy musical stories in historical locations. For some events pre-registration is required; it is available on the project’s page on the Russpass website.

The Moscow Zoo beat out other parks, such as Switzerland Park in Nizhny Novgorod, Skazov Park in the Sverdlovsk Region, Malinki Bird Park in the Rostov Region, etc. Number one in Russia and Europe’s oldest zoo, it takes great effort not only to improve the living environment for its animals, but also to ensure the comfort of visitors, offering Wi-Fi, cafeterias, a user-friendly navigation system, benches, sun loungers, and swings. So the Moscow Zoo is said to be a favorite place of recreation for both local residents and tourists.

Russian Traveler Awards is a national tourism competition including more than 20 categories. Its nominees are projects from all over Russia, winners are chosen by voting on the award website. It recognizes the best travel offers, from hotels and resorts to national dishes and eco-routes, and also discovers new tourist destinations in Russia.

The Moscow City Tourism Committee is creating a sustainable brand for the capital as one of Russia’s top tourist destination. Events that bring together residents and tourists take place all year round. In winter and summer, everyone can immerse themselves in another era at the historical venues of the Mansions of Moscow festival, learn about the capital's tea traditions at the Moscow Tea Party, or taste the Moscow Breakfast at one of the hundreds of member restaurants.
