Filyovskaya Line reconstruction could begin in September
The work will last for about a year, with stations only partially closing.

Reconstruction of the Metro’s Filyovskaya Line could begin in September, said Deputy Mayor Maxim Liksutov, Head of the Department for Transport and Road Infrastructure Development. He pointed out that the line requires an overhaul.

“I believe that work on the Filyovskaya Line will start in September, and we will finish it within a year, maybe a little longer,” he said.

The Metro has made a map and train schedule for the reconstruction period. The line will not be completely closed.

“We will try to avoid creating serious inconveniences for passengers during the reconstruction. We will partially close some stations, but it will still be possible to make a full trip. To be honest, travel time will increase a little, but this is the best option with the smallest number of inconveniences for passengers,” Mr Liksutov said.

Each stage of work will take three to four months, with the reconstruction to last until the end of 2017. There are no plans to close the stations completely.
