Silent film and jazz: how to spend Film Night at Muzeon
A satirical black-and-white 1927 comedy will entertain with a story about celebrity obsession. The silent film will be screened to a Swedish jazz band’s soundtrack.

On Film Night, Muzeon Arts Park invites you to watch “A Kiss From Mary Pickford” to music by Swedish jazz band Nacka Forum. The film will round out the programme “Film Voiceover. Kuleshov Effect.” The black-and-white 1927 movie was the debut film of director Sergei Komarov, a leading actor in Lev Kuleshov’s class. It is a satirical comedy about obsession with celebrities – film stars. Film expert Maksim Semyonov will introduce the movie to the audience.

Film Night, organised by the Moscow Culture Department, will be held in Moscow for the first time on 27 August. From midday until midnight, films will run for free at parks, where meetings with directors, actors and script writers as well as master classes in cartoon making will also take place. You can attend Film Night in Gorky Park, Muzeon, Sokolniki, Hermitage Garden, Bauman Garden, Krasnaya Presnya, Tagansky Park, Fili, Park Pobedy on Poklonnaya Gora, Izmailovsky, Babushkinsky, Lianozovsky, Perovsky, Vorontsovsky parks as well as Kuzminki and Sadovniki.

Entrance to the events is free or requires booking, which will be available at ялюблюмоскву.рф starting 17 August.
