Moscow’s stadiums set to host FIFA Confederations Cup Russia 2017
The CSKA Stadium is ready to open.

In 2017, the city’s stadiums will be ready to host international events, including the FIFA Confederations Cup Russia 2017, said Deputy Moscow Mayor for Urban Development and Construction Marat Khusnullin. He noted that the CSKA Stadium was ready to open, and that the Luzhniki Grand Sport Arena upgrade was ahead of schedule.

The CSKA Stadium is to open in August 2016. The arena is already complete, the equipment is being adjusted, and commissioning documents are being prepared.

Workers are installing utilities and other equipment at the Luzhniki Grand Sport Arena and are preparing to plant grass on the football field.

The FIFA Confederations Cup is held in countries that are hosting FIFA World Cup events one year prior to the World Cup itself.

Russia will host the FIFA Confederations Cup Russia 2017 from 17 June through 2 July next year.
