Plans for the Central Transport Hub (CTH) development will be revealed at the Manege Station. Moscow Transport 2030 exhibition. The exposition will be part of the Territory of the Future: Moscow 2030 forum and festival.
There will be a dedicated interactive area for guests to learn about transport infrastructure improvement projects in various regions. Touch panels are going to show information related to the CTH infrastructure, train speed, and landmarks along their path. Moscow transport complex employees will be there to talk about exhibits and answer any questions.
Implementing the Central Transport Hub development project makes railways the foundational links between regions. After new trains are added to the routes travelling to the edges of central diameters, breaks between suburban trains connecting Moscow to other major cities are projected to shorten six-fold. Transport infrastructure load will decrease by 20 per cent, while residents of the surrounding areas will become three times as mobile as they are now.
“As instructed by Sergei Sobyanin, we are improving transport links between Moscow and regional centers closest to it. 11 regions are involved in the Central Transport Hub development program, with combined population of over 31 million. That area makes up for over 75 per cent of the country’s suburban rail traffic. Intercity connections will strengthen significantly, providing improved transport mobility and taking the strain off motor roads,” said Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Moscow Mayor for Transport.
