A train dedicated to North Ossetia has been launched in the Moscow metro to run along the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line, highlighting the republic’s culture, history and achievements.

“Together with North Ossetia, we have launched a new themed train dedicated to several important dates, namely the 250 th anniversary of the republic’s joining Russia, the 240 th anniversary of Vladikavkaz and the 100 th anniversary of the republic’s autonomy. Our passengers will be able to learn more about the culture, customs and people who live in this beautiful region. We continue to make traveling on public transport exciting and comfortable as instructed by Sergei Sobyanin,” said Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Moscow Mayor for Transport.

North Ossetia is famous for its rich culture, cuisine, vibrant dances, and songs, in addition to its valiant and selfless people. North Ossetian soldiers made a great contribution to the victory in the Great Patriotic War, 79 awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.

Themed trains are the Moscow Metro’s unique educational project; 122 of them, dedicated to Russian regions, Moscow’s major transport achievements, educational projects, and holidays, were serving metro lines in 2023.
