Moscow’s hotel occupancy rises by over 8 per cent

5-star hotels chalking up the most noticeable 72 per cent y-o-y increase vs. 53 per cent in 2022.

In August, the average occupancy of metropolitan 3-star, 4-star and 5-star hotels reached 80.7 per cent, which is more than 4 per cent higher than in June and July; they are also said to be more sought-after than in August last year (72.4 per cent AOR).

In the last month of summer, tourists especially often chose 3-star and 4-star hotels, ranking 83.5 and 81.3 per cent occupancy, respectively, while 5-star hotels chalked up the most noticeable 19 per cent y-o-y increase (all in all 72 per cent).

Most often, guests stayed in hotels in the second half of August; AOR was as high as 92 per cent, with 3-star hotels exceeding 95 per cent on some days. August is also an AOR runner-up month following the record-breaking 2019.
