VR users to feel age-related changes at Moscow Urban Forum
Design Concept
This kind of immersive experience to make them more attentive to and more tolerant of their family members.

At Gostiny Dvor, August 1-September 10, visitors of the Moscow Urban Forum will be able to feel age-related changes as an old age simulator will help to virtually step into the shoes of an elderly person for the user to try to perform the most common actions, such as finding a TV remote control or brushing the teeth. A special suite with a VR headset imitates stiff joints, the suit weight weakening muscle strength and the ear capsules worsening speech distinctness, for users to feel physical and sensory limitations inherent in elderly people or persons with disabilities. This kind of immersive experience will make them more attentive to and more tolerant of their family members.

The venue will also highlight information about seniors support programs offered in Moscow, including social care at home. The digital signage in the social care area will tell visitors which up-to-date tools help elderly Muscovites engage in a well-rounded and active life. They will also watch an immersive show called ‘Dementia. Is There Tomorrow?’ and see a modern gerontology center layout to dispel prevailing stereotypes.

Gostiny Dvor will have a total of 12 themed interactive areas devoted to innovative developments and recent technologies in health, education, and social care.
