Finishing, installation and upgrade: works underway in Moscow Metro
(23).jpeg)
Large projects for the construction and renovation of Moscow metro facilities require painstaking daily work. Read our article on mos.ru to learn what is recently done in the metro and what is going on there right now.
Monolithic structures of the Northern PhysTech lobby are almost done
Builders have almost installed monolithic structures of the Northern lobby at PhysTech station located on the new Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya segment.
Connected to the staff building, it will have seven levels, including four underground and three aboveground levels. On the first ground floor, there will be ticket desks, and the rest will accommodate staff and engineering rooms. Currently, they are concreting the top floor to arrange a leisure area for engine crews.
The Northern PhysTech Lobby will allow passengers to go out to the Dmitrovskoye Motorway, with the Southern Lobby leading to Akademika Landau Boulevard.

It will have five levels with four underground floors and an aboveground passenger area. Now monolithic ceilings and walls are being installed at the engine room level to erect main ticket hall structurers after that.
Builders have already begun laying external engineering networks, including sewage.
The 6-km long Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya segment under construction has three stations, namely Yakhromskaya, Lianozovo and PhysTech, which will improve transport accessibility in the Dmitrovsky, East Degunino, Beskudnikovsky, Severny and Lianozovo districts.
Revamp of the Vladykino depot housing & repair building is almost completed
Works to revamp the housing and repair building of the Vladykino electric train depot under the overall reconstruction program are coming to the last stretch.
Engineers have enlarged the building by more than 8,000 square meters to excavate 9 more train repairing and housing pits, with a total of 48 pits available now, and also have built a three-level repairing platform.
The new spans have got vacuum cleaning and air supply systems in addition to 118,000 meters of power feed and low-current cables, about 20,000 meters of pipes and 1,200 meters of air ducts.

The construction and reconstruction do not impede depot operations. Today, they are renovating available facilities, strengthening existing buildings and integrating all life support systems with the existing networks.
The Vladykino depot reconstruction program covers 11 new facilities, including a connected staff building, an escalator equipment warehouse, a modular transformer substation, a 200 m long cable bridge, etc., with another 8 units, including the compressor station and the car washout/cleaning facilities, to be renovated.
Located in the northeast of Moscow between Vladykino and Botanical Garden stations, near the North-Eastern Chord, Vladykino electric depot serves trains that run along Serpukhovsko-Timiryazevskaya metro line.
Penetration for Elektrozavodskaya interchange is over
Metro builders are building an interchange between Electrozavodskaya stations on the Big Circle Line (BCL) and Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line, having completed a penetration. They drilled 95.5 meters beneath Kazan direction railway tracks with the use of labor saving tools, installing cast-iron liners, which was complicated because of unstable and heavily watered soil.
Now they are gluing a waterproofing material to the cast-iron tunnel rings in the underground corridor to start in-situ concreting soon after. An elevator for comfortable movement of passengers with reduced mobility is to be installed.

The interchange’s interior will be similar to that of the BCL station and its lobby, with the use of red, black and gray granite together with white marble.
Opened in 1944, Electrozavodskaya station of Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya metro line is a regional cultural heritage asset and this will be a key point for the builders when connecting it to the same-name BCL station. The existing decor will be retained and carefully maintained, with two restored marble reliefs, which were dismantled more than sixty years ago during the airlock installation, to be returned to the underpass.
Architectural finish of the Kornilovskaya station platform
Builders are completing brickwork and are almost done with plastering the walls and partitions of the escalator well on the platform of Kornilovskaya station under construction. Finishing works have also started, and a suspended ceiling and track wall subsystem is being installed with metal panels to be fixed to it later. Ventilation systems are being arranged. According to the project, track walls will feature a multi-figured agglomerate composition, while the ceiling is to be gray-paneled with recessed luminaires.
They are building two station lobbies, the ground and underground one; the latter will exit to Kaluzhskoye Motorway and ground transport stops.
In the underground lobby, they are doing waterproofing, are plastering and skimcoating walls and are building the roof. Builders are also preparing to start glazing the exit pavilion.
In the ground lobby, they continue with the brickwork and partitions building. In fact, the colonnaded pavilion will be a petal-shaped building with the natural white dolomite façade.
Kornilovskaya station of Troitskaya metro line will be located at the intersection of Kaluzhskoye Motorway and Admirala Kornilova Street in TiNAO to serve as a transport hub.

40 km long, Troitskaya line will connect Moscow Central Circle (MCC) platforms and Troitsk through Southern, South-Western, Troitsky and Novomoskovsky administrative districts, with around 100,000 people to use the new stations every day. Nearly one million people live close to the stations; another few hundred thousand study or work there.
The second lobby of Aviamotornaya station (BCL) wraps up
The second lobby of Aviamotornaya station (BCL) is more than three quarters finished.
The floor in the ticket hall is covered with granite; they are also finishing granite and marble cladding and fixing decorative ceiling panels. The pedestrian passageway connecting the second lobby and the station platform is almost covered with a decorative waterproof top.
Engineering systems are being laid in the lobby; three escalators connecting the ticket hall with the underground pedestrian passageway have been assembled, workers installing an elevator for PRM passengers. Engineers continue to arrange power and weak-current cables, pipelines and air ducts.

With the lobby and the underpass under construction, passengers will get to Aviamotornaya station (BCL) from Aviamotornaya and Krasnokazarmennaya streets, which are separated from the metro with Kazan-direction railway tracks of the Moscow Railway, whereas now passengers have to go around through the overpass above Entuziastov Motorway in order to reach the station.
Escalators assembled at the interchange between BCL and Kalininskaya lines
There will be four escalators at the Aviamotornaya interchange between BCL and Kalininskaya line.
Moving down the 40 m long escalators, passengers will be able to go from the concourse of Aviamotornaya station (BCL) to the underground passageway to the yellow line. In parallel with installation of lifting mechanisms, they are putting escalator equipment down into the pit of the interchange under construction and place it at the installation site.
In the inclined escalator tunnel, they have installed drainage tops.
The interchange has an intricate structure because of the depth difference and limited space for construction. For example, the concourse adjacent to the BCL platform is three-level; now they are finishing in-situ concreting at two lower mechanical levels to further assemble main upper-level structures for passengers to go to the escalators.
