Moscow Fashion Week tops Russian Creative Awards Event of the Year category

The Fashion Week was the largest specialized event in the fashion industry in 2022.

Moscow Fashion Week won the Event of the Year category in Russian Creative Awards. Cosmoscow international fair of contemporary art, SAM.FEST (Samara), Dusk Capital fest (Nizhny Novgorod) and VK Fest (St. Petersburg) competed for the top prize.

“Moscow Fashion Week was not just one of the largest events of the year in Moscow. It has become the greatest specialized event of the year in the fashion industry, bringing together designers, consumer industry and retail chain representatives to discuss industry issues, find new partners and build cooperation. On top of that, over 1.6 million Muscovites and tourists visited the event venues,” said Alexei Fursin, Head of the Moscow Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development.

Over 450 Russian designers participated in the Moscow Fashion Week. Their shows were taking place at the iconic venues in the city: Zaryadye Park, VDNKh, Tverskaya Square, GUM, Mayakovskaya Metro station and Revolution Square.

At four markets, any visitor could buy designer apparel, shoes and accessories by 225 brands. About 250 wholesale buyers from 40 Russian cities, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Vietnam visited the showroom at Gostiny Dvor.

The event brought together textile and accessory manufacturers, fashion designers, retailers and professional buyers. Their meetings were taking place for seven days over different venues where they could find new material supply and product sale channels. Participants of the Moscow Fashion Week are still looking to promote their brands and consider joining popular online marketplaces.

Additionally, everyone so inclined could join the traditional Day Without Turnstiles event and attend open guided tours to 24 fashion industry and consumer goods factories.

Russian Creative Awards is the top national creative industry award. It promotes creative industries and popularizes their representative’s endeavors. There are the following categories for the outstanding industry professionals to compete in: Person of the Year, Patron of the Year, Breakthrough of the Year, Digital Project, Educational Project, Creative Space of the Year, Cultural Code, Event of the Year, Creative Region, Creative Social Project.

The Government of Russia supports organizing and running Russian Creative Awards. It has been included in the Action Plan to implement the 2022-2024 Creative Industries Development Concept for creative economy development.
