By late 2016, free Wi-Fi will be available on the entire public transit system.
“The new service is gaining popularity with passengers. Since Mosgortrans_Free network was launched in February, 250,000 unique users have registered. The number of Internet connections has exceeded one million. We are happy to offer a truly up-to-date service that makes a trip by public transit even more convenient,” Mosgortrans General Director Yevgeny Mikhailov noted.
The availability of Wi-Fi is indicated by stickers inside the vehicle. To register online, authentication via sms is required. This procedure is performed only once, further connections are automatic. The Wi-Fi network is compatible with all types of customer devices – smartphones, tablet PCs or laptops.
Wi-Fi access is also provided at 450 public transit stops near metro stations, railway platforms and bus terminals. The name of the network is Mosgortrans_Free.
