Special status and hundreds of implemented projects: Strogino technopark turns 15
Seventy companies are residents of the industrial complex. Last year their total sales exceeded RUB 7.2 billion.

Strogino, the first technopark in Moscow, turned 15 this year. It was established to lend support to innovation businesses and young scientists developing cutting-edge technologies. In 2014, they opened a coworking space, and after that a 3D prototyping and microelectronics center.

Strogino technopark today is 38,000 square meters of laboratories, production, office and logistics facilities outfitted with top-notch equipment. 70 innovation companies employing close to 1,000 professionals are among the technopark’s residents. Their total sales exceeded RUB 7.2 billion in the last year alone,” said Natalya Sergunina, Deputy Moscow Mayor.

The decision was made in 2019 to build another technopark facility to cope with the growing demand. Right now, the construction enters its final stage.

Strogino residents mainly specialize in healthcare products, medical devices and drugs, instrument engineering and IT.

Opportunities for residents: cheap rent and tax cuts

Strogino has a business incubator for innovation startups. Businesses get help turning their promising ideas into highly investable projects. Companies can rent facilities at reduced rates for two years.

Business incubator supported a startup that developed a vacuum treatment device. It can be an alternative to wound dressing for patients with burns, open wounds and other trauma. The device makes skin heal way faster than normal by creating negative pressure in the damaged area and stimulating blood flow. Now the device is being used successfully in multiple clinics.

Strogino resident status entitles companies to tax cuts. One of the companies pays profit tax at 16.5 per cent rate. They produce new generation drugs stimulating brain activity. These peptide-based substances help overcome the consequences of stroke.

Mosmedpark site

In 2017, a site in the southeastern Moscow was handed over to Strogino for management. After the capital repairs, 21,000 square meters were occupied by Mosmedpark, a biomedical technology complex. Unique infrastructure was established for medical products, pharmaceuticals and digital medicine production.

Over 400 professionals work in pre-clinical and clinical trial centers, physicotechnical and pharma labs, production facilities.

Total investment into the Mosmedpark property in 2017-2021 exceeded RUB 1.1 billion. RUB 87 million was supplied by Strogino technopark itself, 180 million was subsidized by the Moscow Government, and over 900 million was the technopark residents’ own funds,” Alexei Fursin, Head of Moscow Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development, told us.

The Mosmedlab service platform is based on Mosmedpark. Pharma companies and medical product manufacturers get support launching their products to the Russian and foreign markets on the one-stop-shop basis. The support covers all stages: from paperwork development to certification and sales.
