Mosprom wins Best Stand Design category at the international exhibition in Qatar
Moscow manufacturers of lighting and LED equipment, road and utility machinery, and construction products held more than 150 negotiations in Doha with potential business partners from Middle Eastern countries.

The Mosprom Center won Best Stand Design category at Project Qatar 2022, the International Construction Technology & Building Materials Exhibition held in Doha. Moscow enterprises were represented there at the collective stand and displayed the latest developments in the area of lighting, road, and construction equipment and other areas as well.

“In 2021, commodity turnover between Moscow and Qatar amounted to USD 7.5 billion, with non-resource non-energy exports reaching USD 5.5 million. We hold various events to develop export in this region, including business trips for Moscow export-oriented enterprises. At the international trade exhibition in Doha, foreign partners got acquainted with products from Moscow and held over 150 B2B negotiations with manufacturers of lighting and LED equipment, road and utility machinery, cable products and gas purifying technology in construction,” Vladislav Ovchinsky, Head of the Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy told mos.ru.

As a result of these negotiations, the manufacturer of cables and lighting equipment is already working with foreign partners on the issues of certification of its products, export to Qatar and UAE, as well as the possible supply of the pilot batch. Qatar and Saudi Arabia were also interested in industrial ecological filters produced in Moscow. Cooperation opportunities are now being discussed.

The international teleconference Moscow – GCC 2022 has been recently held in Moscow sponsored by Mosprom where representatives of the government and business society of the city discussed a possible increase in supplies to Middle Eastern countries. The Qatar delegation noted that the actively developing oil and gas sector in the country required new buildings, roads, lighting, and many more. That determines a high demand for different materials and technologies. Russian companies, and Moscow companies in particular, can fill a niche while it is available.

Qatar has developed Qatar National Vision 2030 — a strategy of the economic development of the country. It is devised to ensure sustainable development of Qatar, diversify its economy, increase production capacity, reduce its oil dependence in favor of knowledge intensive industries, whilst preserving its cultural identity.

The Mosprom Center, subordinated to the city Department of Investment and Industrial Policy, supports Moscow’s industrial and agro-industrial exports. The Center's specialists analyze target markets for Moscow manufacturers, study the risk profile, the industry and its export and import dependence. Experts also conduct analytical studies for companies, which allow them to determine the most effective strategy for entering foreign markets.
