The Moscow Metro app won RB Digital Awards 2022, a Russian business competition, in the Logistics and Transportation category. The independent award recognizes companies and institutions using technology in their business.
The mobile app can be used to remotely replenish Troika Travel Card, make contactless Face Pay payments for metro trips, choose a less crowded train car for a comfortable ride and create convenient routes with different modes of transport. Passengers in the app can ask questions to chatbot Aleksandra.
“By order of the Moscow Mayor, we are launching convenient digital services and creating a comfortable interaction between the city and its residents. Moscow Metro plays a significant part in this task: we were among the first in the world to launch new digital projects using the app, such as Face Pay and virtual Troika, to enable Muscovites to enter the metro without any cash or a travel or bank card. These services made public transport trips more convenient and faster and were highly praised by Russian and international experts,” said Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Moscow Mayor for Transport.
The mobile app has already been declared the best among 2,500 applicants in the App for Government category at the AVA Digital Awards 2021 in Dallas, TX, USA. It is available on Google Play and App Store.
