Moscow scientists have developed a training phantom replicating human vascular and nervous systems. It will allow doctors to improve their practical knowledge as Sergei Sobyanin wrote on his Telegram channel.
The training model helps clinicians develop skills in performing crucial procedures such as ultrasound-guided vascular access and peripheral nerve block anaesthesia.
The developed model has been tested by the Medical Simulation Center of the Botkin Hospital. Practitioners gave only positive feedback.
The training model has been developed by scientists from the Center for Diagnostics and Telemedicine of the Moscow Healthcare Department. The specialists have already created six different imaging phantoms.
“Using them, doctors gain invaluable experience in the ultrasound diagnosis of aneurysms and blood clots in the brain vessels, and neoplasms in the mammary and thyroid glands. The specialists are trained to use ultrasound guidance tools. All this allows to act as correctly and accurately as possible when treating patients,” the Moscow Mayor said.
