The 68-kilometer-long highway will connect the largest outbound highways — the North-Western Chord, Dmitrovskoye, Altufyevskoye, Yaroslavskoye and Shchelkovskoye Highways, the Entusiastov Highway, Ryazansky and Volgogradsky Avenues, Yuzhnaya Rokada, Kashirskoye and Varshavskoye Highways.

The North-Eastern and South-Eastern chords will be united into a new urban highway. “With seamless connection in place, these highways organically create a new traffic artery — the non-stop high-speed diameter of Moscow from the south to the north, from the Simferopol highway to the toll highway to St. Petersburg. And with a branch to Nekrasovka,” Sergei Sobyanin wrote on his blog.

Moscow Mayor suggested that residents should choose the name for the new highway in the Active Citizen project.

“I propose to vote for the name of the new highway in Active Citizen. It's time to give it a clear and convenient name,” he said.

The construction of the two largest off-street highways — the North-Eastern and South-Eastern Chord — is in the final stage. It is expected that the combined route will be ready in full in 2023.

In terms of its size and value, the high-speed diameter will be comparable to the MKAD. The 68-kilometer-long highway will connect the largest outbound highways — the North-Western Chord, Dmitrovskoye, Altufyevskoye, Yaroslavskoye, Shchelkovskoye Highways, Entusiastov Highway, Ryazansky and Volgogradsky Avenues, Yuzhnaya Rokada, Kashirskoye and Varshavskoye Highways.

Next to the Novokhokhlovskaya station, there will be an exit to the Third Ring Road. In the north, the diameter will be continued by the federal highway M11 Moscow — St. Petersburg, in the east in the future — by the highway M12 Moscow — Kazan, and in the south — by M2 Crimea federal highway and the new road of Solntsevo — Butovo — Varshavskoe Highway.

“For millions of drivers, the creation of the Moscow high-speed diameter will mean a new transport reality — faster and more comfortable trips from one part of the city to another. It will be possible to drive non-stop through the entire city bypassing the center within 40 minutes,” Sergei Sobyanin emphasized.

Depending on the distance and time of day, the travel time for drivers around the city will be reduced by10 - 50 minutes, and the road to Sheremetyevo and Domodedovo airports will be 20-25 minutes faster. In the meantime, there will be no transit of cargo transport here.
