The system of mandatory QR codes fulfilled its task and is canceled — Sergei Sobyanin

Since July 19, mandatory QR codes for visiting restaurants and cafes will be canceled in the capital. This was announced by Sergei Sobyanin during a meeting of the Coordinating Council under Government of Russia on control of spreading the Coronavirus infection, which was held by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

"I have received many appeals from business, public organizations, party organizations, in particular from the Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers, from United Russia party. I would like to thank Moscow business for the responsible attitude to the measures that we have taken, to the joint work that has allowed us to take further steps to normalize the situation and the operation of the economy," Moscow Mayor said.

The improvement of the epidemiological situation allowed us to make such a decision. Thus, the number of COVID-19 cases detected daily has almost halved and the number of hospitalizations has decreased by a third. This also made it possible to re-direct more than six thousand hospital beds to planned work.

The decrease in indicators is affected not only by strict compliance with sanitary requirements, but also by mass vaccination. Over the past month alone, more than two million people have been vaccinated in Moscow. In general, 3.8 million people received the first component of the vaccine, and more than two million people received two components.

"Nevertheless, we must understand that we are still in the risk zone, in the zone of the epidemic, which continues. And of course, we must comply with those sanitary requirements and ensure further mass vaccination of the population. And we all have to comply with these requirements and take care of ourselves and our relatives. I would like to thank Muscovites for such an active participation in events aimed at reducing the incidence of diseases, their responsibility and compliance with the requirements prescribed by healthcare and Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resource Usage (Rospotrebnadzor) specialists," Sergei Sobyanin added.

Citizens will still be able to get a QR code, and catering establishments will make decisions independently, whether to check them with all visitors or not.

In addition, from July 19, food courts will resume operation while maintaining the necessary sanitary requirements, and restaurants and cafes will be able to serve visitors at night (from 23: 00 to 06: 00). In addition, children's playrooms, night clubs and bars are permitted to be opened.

For organizations that work without QR codes, some restrictions will be maintained. So, when conducting concert, sport and other entertainment events, seating should be arranged. The organizers must fulfill this requirement regardless of the number of visitors present at the same time. In addition, if QR codes are not checked at the entrance to the event, the simultaneous presence of more than 500 people is still prohibited.

QR codes are available to those who have been ill no more than six months ago and vaccinated citizens, as well as those with negative PCR test result, which is valid for 72 hours from the moment of its registration in the laboratory.

Now in Moscow, you can get vaccinated against COVID-19 at 119 vaccination points on the basis of city polyclinics by appointment. In addition, you can get vaccinated without an appointment in the Healthy Moscow pavilions, in shopping centers, My Documents public services centers and other public places where mobile medical teams work.
