This year plans focus on finishing the Big Circle Line, the biggest electric bus park in Europe, and reconstructing the South River Terminal. In addition to that, there are plans to reintroduce regular river transport routes along the Moskva River.

The completion of the Big Circle Line will be the major milestone in the Moscow transport life this year, and next year, it will open for passengers. In addition, seven old railway stations will be reconstructed and three new ones will be built, including:

– Timiryazevskaya and Okruzhnaya (MCD-1);

– Pechatniki and Maryina Roshcha (MCD-2);

– Tolstopaltsevo, Meshcherskaya, Peredelkino, Lesnoy Gorodok, Ochakovo and Minskaya stations (MCD-4).

Sergei Sobyanin ordered to ensure the implementation of Moscow transport system development plans in their entirety in 2022. The Moscow Government Presidium discussed this issue during the latest session.

This year, the Moscow transport system also expects 336 metro cars, 450-500 electric buses, 50-100 trams, and about 400 coaches for suburban commuter trains. The construction of Europe’s biggest electric bus park in Krasnaya Pakhra is scheduled to end this year as well.

Transport authorities also have on their to-do list changes in the Moscow-Vnukovo Aeroexpress trains schedule (reducing intervals between trains from 60 to 30 mins) and the completion of the new railway to the northern Sheremetyevo terminal complex.

Face Pay will be introduced for all holders of the Moscow Resident Social Card on the Moscow Central Circle and tested in the land public transport and within Moscow Central Diameters. All metro turn gates are to be equipped with a bank card payment option.

Among other innovations, MAAS (Mobility as a Service) will launch.

The reconstruction of the Sparrow Hills escalator gallery is to be finished also later this year; the convenient passageway that was closed about 40 years ago offers a path to Moscow State University from the Vorobyovy Gory station.

The South River Terminal will open, following its reconstruction, to serve 130 cruise ships and over 10k passengers per season. Over 1 million people per year is expected to visit the new city space.

Other plans include:

– reintroduction of regular river transport routes along the Moskva River: from the Kiyevsky railway station, through the Moscow International Business Center to Fili and from the former ZIL to Pechatniki;

– implementation of the Moscow Parking mobile app in St. Petersburg and other Russian regions;

– 13 new parking lots with a capacity of 2.3k cars.

– implementation of the video content analysis system on the Moscow Ring Road – 1.3k video cameras and 100% coverage;

– the Po Puti service will expand in Troitsky and Novomoskovsky Administrative Districts;

– further development of the bike and scooter rent infrastructure; namely, Moscow will get over 1k new electric bikes.
