Russian President Vladimir Putin and Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin have opened a section of the Big Circle Metro Line from Mnevniki station to Kakhovskaya station. At the same time, the new Aminyevskaya station of the future fourth Moscow Central Diameter (MCD-4, Kiev direction of the Moscow Railway) received the first passengers.
According to Vladimir Putin, the opening of the BCL section from Mnevniki to Kakhovskaya is an important milestone in the development of the capital entire metro. For the first time in the modern history of domestic metro construction, 10 stations are being launched at once.
"New stations of the Big Circle Line will certainly significantly improve the transport accessibility of a number of districts in the west and south of Moscow" the Russian President noted. “For millions of people, trips will become faster, more convenient, radial subway lines will be unloaded, and it may be said without exaggeration that the whole rhythm of city life will change in many ways."
According to him, now 22 BCL stations will operate in the Moscow Metro — this is almost 44 kilometers of track and 90 kilometers of single-track tunnels. "The work is gigantic in its scale. And after the completion of the entire facility construction, the Big Circle Line joint (this is 70 kilometers track), it will claim to turn into the longest metrocircle in the world. Muscovites can rightfully be proud of the implementation of such a large-scale, highly demanded project," Vladimir Putin said.
The Russian President added that all city services with thousands of specialists worked on this project: "I sincerely congratulate all of you on this victory and thank you for your work, for the results of this work. Together, you have done a tremendous job, solved the most complex technological tasks including those related to laying the line in conditions of dense urban development with a large number of communications and intersections with existing radial metro lines."
The new 20-kilometer section includes 10 stations: Terekhovo, Kuntsevskaya, Davydkovo, Aminyevskaya, Michurinsky Prospekt, Prospekt Vernadskogo, Novatorskaya, Vorontsovskaya, Zyuzino and Kakhovskaya. The peculiarity of the line from Mnevnikov to Davydkov lies in the fact that it was built according to Spanish technology — in single-track design with the help of Nadezhda and Lilia tunnel shields (their diameter is 10 meters). From Davydkov to Kakhovskaya, the sinking was carried out in the traditional way for the Moscow metro — with the installation of two single-track tunnels with a diameter of six meters.
In general, 100 metro and MCC stations have been launched since 2011. The Moscow subway has become 1.5 times larger, the number of operating stations has grown to 281.
Sergei Sobyanin emphasize that 70 percent of the BCL project has already been implemented, nine more stations remain to be opened: "30 percent remains — these are nine stations, which we will, of course, mainly build next year, and, hopefully, in 2023 the ring will be completely closed and will work in full mode."
He recalled that the Big Circle Line is a key project for the development of the central transport hub of the country. Today, about 60 percent of all Russian passengers pass through the capital. BCL will be able to combine all passenger routes. "There will be transfers from the Big Circle Line to 44 different directions. They are suburban railways, and the MCC, and the MCD, and the radial directions of the metro. In other words, this is precisely the key project that, together with the MCC, is, in fact, the new supporting framework of the entire transport system of Moscow and the Moscow transport hub. The latter is the most difficult and the most in demand," Moscow Mayor said. “Difficult, because, as we have already said, a whole new underground city has been built under Moscow and continues to be built. In total, it will be necessary to pass 150 kilometers of tunnels."
Sergei Sobyanin thanked the President of Russia for the constant attention and support for the development of the capital's transport, as well as all the people involved in the opening of new metro stations — from builders to employees.
The section from Mnevniki to Kakhovskaya will improve transport services for residents of many districts and those who work there. We are talking about Khoroshevo-Mnevniki, Kuntsevo, Mozhaisk, Fili-Davydkovo, Ochakovo-Matveevskoye, Ramenki, Prospekt Vernadskogo, Obruchevsky, Lomonosovsky, Cheryomushki, Konkovo, Zyuzino and Nagorny. 1.4 million people live there, 450 thousand of them live close to the new stations and can walk to them. It is expected that for the first time about 600 thousand passengers a day will use the new stations.
On the trip, they will save up to 35-45 minutes. So, from Prospekt Vernadskogo to Myakinino (Crocus City Hall concert hall) it will be possible to drive up for 31 minutes (saving 25 minutes), from Yasenevo to Nagornaya (Kant ski complex) — for 27 minutes (saving 12 minutes). The trip from Govorovo to Teply Stan (Mega Teply Stan) will take half an hour (saving 34 minutes), and from Rasskazovka to Vorobyovy Gory — 34 minutes (saving 26 minutes).
Seven of the 10 stations of the BCL new section are interchange stations. From Kuntsevskaya, you can change to Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya, Filevskaya lines and MCD-1, from Michurinsky Prospekt to Solntsevskaya line, from Prospekt Vernadskogo to Sokolnicheskaya, from Vorontsovskaya to Kaluzhskaya station of the Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya line, from Kakhovskaya to Sevastopolskaya of Serpukhovsko-Timiryazevskaya line, and from Aminyevskaya to MCD-4 (Kiev direction of the Moscow Railway). In the future, from the Novatorskaya station, it will be possible to change to the station of the same name of the Troitskaya metro line being under construction.
After the opening of the section, the intensity of train traffic will increase. 27 pairs of trains instead of 24 will run in each direction between Savelovskaya and Khoroshevskaya during peak load hours. The movement interval will be reduced from 2.5 minutes to two minutes and 13 seconds. After Khoroshevskaya, 18 pairs of trains instead of 12 will follow in the direction of Mnevniki and further in the direction of Kakhovskaya. The interval of movement will be reduced from 5 to 3 minutes and 20 seconds. In the Moscow Metro application, you will be able to view the loading of the arriving train online in order to choose a freer car.
This October, a modern train Moskva-2020 started running along the Big Circle Line. Now only trains of this model will run here.
The new stations of the Big Circle Line are adapted for mobility impaired people: here, for example, there are convenient elevators on which you can descend from the street to the platforms.
To make it easier for Muscovites to come to the stations, the routes of ground public transport will be corrected. There will be two new routes, 69 more will be changed.
With the opening of the BCL new section, the following stations will be unloaded: Kuntsevskaya of the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line (by 36 percent), Kuntsevskaya of the Filevskaya line (by 27 percent), Prospekt Vernadskogo of the Sokolnicheskaya line (by 43 percent), Kaluzhskaya of the Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya line (by 44 percent) and Sevastopolskaya of the Serpukhovsko-Timiryazevskaya line (by 60 percent). The load on the radial metro lines sections inside the Big Circle will also decrease — on Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya (up to 22 percent), Filevskaya (up to 21 percent), Serpukhovsko-Timiryazevskaya (up to 16 percent), Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya (up to 15 percent), Sokolnicheskaya (up to 13 percent). With the full introduction of BCL on the MCC, up to 17 percent will become freer.
In addition, the load on the road network will be reduced. Aminyevskoye Highway will become freer by 17 percent, Kakhovka Street — by 15 percent, Profsoyuznaya Street and Sevastopolsky Highway — by 6 percent, Vernadskogo Highway and Michurinsky Highway — by 5 percent, Rublevskoe Highway — by 4 percent.
Terekhovo: Comfortable Elevators, Bright Decoration
Terekhovo is located in the southern part of the Mnevnikovskaya floodplain. This is a three-span station with two side platforms with a depth of 26.6 meters. It has two concourses through which passengers will be able to exit to the territory of the Mnevnikovskaya floodplain to future residential and public development. The concourses will be connected to the interchange mezzanine storeys by stairs, and to the street pavilions by escalators. No. 3 and 4 exit pavilions are equipped with elevators for mobility impaired people. Pedestrian bridges across the Moskva River will be built for residents of the Filevsky Park district and those who work there, as well as visitors to the Rowing Canal.
The station design project was developed by the Buromoscow architectural company — the winner of an open competition. Specialists decorated Terekhovo with silhouettes of human figures, they were applied to the columns using digital printing on concrete. To illuminate the platform, LED lamps in the form of rings suspended from the ceiling on brackets are used. The walls of the ticket halls are lined with smooth panels, the ceiling — with panels having round holes for built-in lamps. In the area of the escalator descent — finishing of relief elements (flutes). The floor is made of granite. On the stairs and in the underpass pedestrians — a special heat-treated granite stone.
The territory next to the station was landscaped. Its area is 52.8 thousand square meters. A new section of the Proyektiruemy Drive No. 1078 was built — a 500-meter-long boulevard with two lanes in each direction, sidewalks and overground public transport passengers pick up and drop off zones. Pedestrian paths were made on one side of the boulevard, trees and shrubs were planted.
It is expected that several hundred people a day will use the station initially after the opening. In the future, passenger throughput may increase to 20 thousand people per day.





Kuntsevskaya: Integrity of the Station and Concourses Interior
The Kuntsevskaya station is located along Rublevskoe Highway between Moldavskaya Street and the tracks of the MCD-1. Passengers can change to the stations of the same name on the Filevskaya and Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya metro lines, as well as the MCD-1 (in the future —on a clean shoe basis). Kuntsevskaya is a three-span station with two side platforms and two concourses (ground and underground), its depth is 37.6 meters.
The main idea of the architectural and artistic solution of the station is the monumentality, unity and integrity of the station interior and the concourses, as if carved from solid stone. The floor, wall and ceiling surfaces imitate the mosaic technology of terrazzo in light gray tones. The geometric shapes and right angles at the station are smoothed by cylindrical lamps, which provide the space with intimacy.
In the future, pedestrian underpass will be built from the southern concourse of the station to change to Kuntsevskaya station of MCD-1.
The area next to the station is landscaped. Its area is 33 thousand square meters. Nature trails and recreation areas were made here. For road-users, exits to the interchange at the intersection of Rublevskoe Highway and Ivana Franko Street were built. Now the improvement of Mazilovskaya Street, the section of Kastanaevskaya Street from Rublevskoe Highway to Mazilovskaya Street, the territory along Ivana Franko Street, as well as the mini park at the intersection of Rublevskoe Highway with Malaya Filevskaya Street is continuing. It is planned to complete the work next year.
Initially, after the opening, the passenger traffic of Kuntsevskaya station may amount to 17.7 thousand people per day.





Davydkovo: Tribute to Russian Rescuers
Davydkovo is located along Aminyevskoe Highway at the junction of Initsiativnaya Street. This is a two-level column station with side platforms with a depth of 29.1 meters. It has only one concourse, which will provide passengers with access to the Aminyevskoye Highway, residential development and aboveground transport stops.
A large base of the Russian Emergencies Ministry is located next to the station, so its design is a tribute to Russian rescuers. The Star of Salvation panel is placed in the ticket hall. In the center there is a Burning Bush of the Mother of God icon, the patroness of firefighters, on the periphery there is a fire observation tower. On the platform there is another panel with the motto of the Ministry of Emergency Situations: Prevention. Rescue. Help. Artistic bas-reliefs made of white architectural concrete were made on the track walls, reflecting the tasks of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The territory next to the station (25.6 thousand square meters) is landscaped. In order to reduce the load on the main roadway of the Aminyevsky highway, a 300-meter alternate road was built with the arrangement of places (area) for overground public transport passengers pick up and drop off, and taxi parking. A section of Vereyskaya Street from the courthouse (Vereyskaya Street, house 29, building 34) to Aminyevskoye Highway was also got in order. By the end of this year, it is planned to complete work on Kozlova Street and in the Kozlovsky forest.
It is predicted that initially after the opening, the passenger traffic of the station will be 26 thousand people per day.





Aminyevskaya: Waves-Dunes and ‘Cloudlets’
Aminyevskaya is located along the Aminyevskoye highway, near the tracks of the Moscow Railway Kiev direction. From there you can change to the MCD-4 station of the same name, which was opened simultaneously with the new section of the metro.
The Aminyevskaya station depth is 17.5 meters. It has two underground concourses, from which it will be possible to exit on both sides of the Aminyevskoye highway, to residential and public developments, overground transport stops.
The main artistic element of the station's design is the ceiling in the form of soft waves-dunes formed by metal rails changing dynamically over a distance. ‘Cloudlets’ of spotlights are placed on their tops. Rectangular columns made of dark brown granite are stood out expressively against the background of a floor made of polished gray granite. Along the platform edge there are lamps that provide local lighting. The aesthetics of the pavilions are minimalistic — straight lines and clear-cut geometric shapes. The facades are finished with metal panels in combination with stained glass structures.
The territory near the station is comprehensively landscaped. On the Aminyevskoye highway, there are places for the overground public transport passengers pick up and drop off zones. Now the first stage of landscaping on Ochakovsky highway and Matveevskaya Street is under completion.
In the future, the Aminyevskaya transport interchange hub will be created here, in which (in addition to the BCL and MCD-4 stations) the urban transport terminuses and a multifunctional complex with underground parking will be included. Between the stations, pedestrian underpasses will be built.
It is predicted that initially after the opening, the passenger traffic of Aminevskaya will amount to 15.7 thousand people per day.





Michurinsky Prospekt: Chinese Motifs as a Sign of Friendship
This station is located at the intersection of Michurinsky Avenue and Udaltsova Street. Passengers can change to the Kalininsko-Solntsevskaya line station of the same name. The depth of the Michurinsky Prospekt station is 24 meters, it has aboveground and underground concourses. Passengers will be able to go to both sides of Udaltsova Street and Michurinsky Avenue, to residential and public developments, aboveground transport stops.
In the station design built by a Chinese contractor the Chinese motifs were used in appreciation of a long-term fruitful cooperation between Russia and China. Light installations on the ceiling are decorated with hieroglyphs symbolizing friendship. The overground concourse is made in light and dark gray shades. The most expressive element is the ceiling structures, which are an alternation of two types of panels with lamps built into the lower edge. Half of these panels are made of transparency material with a thin sheet of stainless steel, in which Chinese ornaments were laser-cut. The white glass panels are illuminated by LEDs hidden inside. The second half of the panels is made entirely of polished stainless steel, on the surface of which a graphic pattern is applied.
Specialists have got in order the territory, which is located near the station. Its area is 27.8 thousand square meters. Udaltsova Street on the section from Michurinsky Avenue to Ramenky Street was expanded from four to five lanes. New zones for overground public transport passengers pick up and drop off were equipped, the existing overground transport stops were reconstructed — new pavilions were installed there and moved them closer to the metro exits. By the end of this year, they want to complete the first stage of landscaping on the Udaltsova Street section from house 32, building 1 to house 87.
It is predicted that initially after the opening, the passenger traffic of Michurinsky Prospekt station will amount to 5.5 thousand people per day. The number of passengers will grow in course of housing construction — more than 450 thousand square meters of residential development near the station from the station. In the future, passenger traffic will reach almost 11 thousand people per day.





Prospekt Vernadskogo Station
The Prospekt Vernadskogo station is located at the intersection of Vernadskogo Avenue and Udaltsova Street. It is an interchange station on the Sokolnicheskaya line of the same name.
This is a shallow station (depth — 21.2 meters) with two underground concourse, from which you can access both sides of Udaltsov Street, residential and public buildings, ground transport stops.
The station is decorated in high-tech style — a combination of geometric shapes of warm monochrome of the ceiling, floor, columns finishes and graphically bright theme of the tunnel wall. The staggered built-in lamps create an original pattern, reflected on the marble floor.
The central part of the platform is framed by two rows of rectangular columns lined with gabbro stone, the black color of which contrasts with the gray halftones of the ceiling and the golden scale of the track wall. The background for this combination is the platform floor made of polished gray granite.
The walls of the ticket halls are lined with orange agglomerate, the background for which is the light gray marble of the walls and the gray tone of the granite floor.
Specialists have carried out complex landscaping of the territory adjacent to the station with a total area of 42 thousand square meters. In particular, there are three zones for passengers pick up and drop off in the bays on Udaltsova Street. The park around the monument to Yu.A. Gagarin in front of the Zvezdny cinema has been landscaped. Pedestrian paths have been laid, lighting has been replaced, trees and shrubs have been planted.
It is predicted that initially after the opening, the passenger traffic of the Prospekt Vernadskogo station will amount to 13.3 thousand people per day.





Novatorskaya Station
The Novatorskaya station is located at the intersection of Novatorov Street and Leninsky Prospekt. It will be possible to change from it to the station of the same name on the Troitskaya metro line under construction.
Novatorskaya is a low-depth station (its depth is 14.6 meters) with two underground concourse, from which you can access Leninsky Avenue and both sides of Novatorov Street, to residential buildings and public development, as well as to overground transport stops.
With a typical design, the station Novatorskaya has its own individual image with a recognizable coloristic solution. Its main emphasis is placed on the suspended ceiling, lined with multi-format triplex panels with an orange film of three shades.
The tunnel walls are covered with a suspended noise suppression system — a prefabricated structure made of aluminum honeycomb panels. The central row of rectangular columns is lined with gray marble with a strongly pronounced texture. The floor is made of light gray granite and black gabbro-diabase, and the panels with the name of the station are made of black glass with white letters.
The territory adjacent to the station with a total area of 45 thousand square meters was comprehensively landscaped. Here, the roadway of Novatorov and Udaltsova Streets was restored, and bays for ground transport stops were equipped. In addition, a comprehensive improvement of Academician Pilyugin Street and the yard area near houses 4 and 6 on Novatorov Street was carried out.
In the future, after the completion of the Novatorskaya station construction on the Troitskaya metro line, the improvement of Leninsky Prospekt is planned to be carried out.
It is predicted that initially after Novatorskaya station opening, the passenger traffic will be 29.7 thousand people per day.





Vorontsovskaya Station
Vorontsovskaya station is located at the intersection of Profsoyuznaya Street with Starokaluzhskoye Highway. It is an interchange station to the Kaluzhskaya station of the Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya metro line. The station got its name from the Vorontsovo estate located nearby and the park of the same name, which is one of the popular recreation places for residents of the south-west of Moscow. In October 2018, the majority of residents who took part in the survey of the Active Citizen project voted for the name Vorontsovskaya.
Vorontsovskaya has been built at a depth of 27.1 meters, has two concourses, from which you can get to Profsoyuznaya Street, Khlebobulochny Drive and Starokaluzhskoe Highway, to residential buildings and public development, as well as to overground transport stops.
The interiors of the station are associated with space themes. The architects were inspired by its working name (Kaluzhskaya) associated with the city of Kaluga, where an outstanding scientist, the founder of theoretical cosmonautics Konstantin Tsiolkovsky (1857-1935) lived and worked.
The suspended ceiling at the station is a parametric structure of complex geometry — it was made of identical small-size aluminum elements located at different heights. Neon lights are built into the structure creating a feeling of continuous movement — a flow reminiscent of the Milky Way.
The station's color scheme is dominated by gray, black and orange.
Two rows of complex-shaped concrete columns are covered with a silicate vandal-proof compound that will preserve the texture of concrete. The complex rhythm of the ceiling contrasts with the simple pattern of the floor finished in two shades of granite — white and dark gray.
In the concourse, the suspended ceiling is made of triangular aluminum honeycomb panels, between which there are profiles with lighting equipment. The concourse columns are finished with gabbro-diabase, the walls — with light gray and black marble, the ticket hall — with orange agglomerate, and the floor — with gray granite and black gabbro.
Comprehensive landscaping of the territory adjacent to the station with a total area of 76.9 thousand square meters was carried out. In addition, specialists have built a section of the Proyektiruemy Drive No. 4846, 500-meter-long with two lanes in each direction.
It will be possible to exit Vorontsovskaya through the eastern concourse and the combined exits from the existing Kaluzhskaya station of the Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya metro line to Profsoyuznaya Street. As part of the transport interchange hub creation, weather shelters will be made at two overground transport stops to protect passengers from snow and rain.
By the end of this year, there is a plan to complete the first stage of landscaping of Nametkina, Academician Chelomey Streets and Starokaluzhskoye Highway.
It is predicted that initially after opening, the passenger traffic of the Vorontsovskaya station will amount to 19.8 thousand people per day.

Zyuzino Station
Zyuzino station is located at the intersection of Kakhovka Street with Sevastopolsky Avenue.
This is a low-depth station built at a depth of 17.3 meters with two underground concourses from which passengers will be able to exit on both sides of Kakhovka Street and Sevastopolsky Avenue.
The design of the station is combined with the aesthetics of a standard housing area of the 1960s. It uses gray, black and yellow colors. The tunnel walls are decorated with aluminum panels, the columns are lined with light gray marble with a pronounced texture.
The decorative suspended ceiling made of multi-sized cubic aluminum elements and lamps arranged in groups between the ceiling panels became the main decoration of the station.
The complex design of the ceiling contrasts with the simple pattern of the floor finished with two varieties of natural stone — light gray granite and black gabbro-diabase.
Landscaping works were carried out on the territory adjacent to the station with a total area of 81.7 thousand square meters. Seven aboveground transport stops have been reconstructed and an adjustable pedestrian crossing has been completed. The sections of Kakhovka and Perekopskaya Streets up to the intersection with Sevastopolsy Avenue have been got in order.
It is planned that initially after opening Zyuzino station, its passenger traffic will be 39.6 thousand people per day.





Kakhovskaya Station
Kakhovskaya is located at the intersection of Kakhovka, Azovskaya Streets and Chongarsky Boulevard. The station is low-depth, three-span, with columns and an island platform, in the center of which you can change to the Sevastopolskaya station of the Serpukhovsko-Timiryazevskaya metro line.
Kakhovskaya was built according to a standard project popular in the 1960s and 1970s, but the columns in the shape of a regular octagon became its distinctive feature. Usually, at stations built according to this standard project, the columns had a square in cross section.
The tunnel walls of Kakhovskaya are decorated with original cast panels-bas-reliefs dedicated to the Civil War (sculptors are V.A. Gorchakov, L.A. Soshinskaya and others). The reconstruction of the station began on March 30, 2019.
Specialists have preserved its original appearance as much as possible. At the same time, specialists have modernized the infrastructure, replaced engineering communications, rails, wall cladding and platforms.
In the western end of the Kakhovskaya station, the construction of an additional concourse with a change to the Serpukhovsko-Timiryazevskaya line continues.
Kakhovskaya will become more convenient for passengers with restricted mobility: an elevator is installed in one of the concourses connecting the ticket hall with access to the intersection of Azovskaya and Kakhovka streets.
The complex landscaping of the territory adjacent to the station with a total area of 18 thousand square meters has been completed.
According to experts, initially after the opening Kakhovskaya station, its passenger traffic will amount to 33.2 thousand people per day.
Until recently, the 3.3-kilometer-long Kakhovskaya line was the shortest branch of the Moscow Metro. Its three stations — Kakhovskaya, Varshavskaya and Kashirskaya — were opened on August 11, 1969 as part of the Zamoskvoretskaya metro line, and in 1995 formed a separate metro branch.
The comprehensive reconstruction of the Kakhovskaya Line started in the spring of 2019 for including it in the Big Circle Line being under construction. The work is divided into two stages.
In 2021, the Kakhovskaya station reconstruction was completed. In the framework of the first stage, a connecting branch was also built to the Zamoskvoretskoye electric engine house, which previously served the metro line of the same name, and now switched to servicing the Big Circle Line.
In 2022, it is planned to complete the reconstruction of the Varshavskaya and Kashirskaya stations and put them into operation together with the eastern section of the BCL— from Kashirskaya to Nizhegorodskaya station.
Before the reconstruction, the Kakhovskaya line was in poor demand among Muscovites. Passenger traffic amounted to several tens of thousands of people per day. Shortened trains served the line, and the traffic interval was five minutes.





Big Circle Line
The construction of the Big Circle Line is the world's largest metro construction project.
Its length will be 70 kilometers with 31 stations and three electric engine houses (including the existing section Kakhovskaya — Kashirskaya).
Thus, the length of the existing Circle Line is 19.4 kilometers with 12 stations, which is 3.5 times less than the BCL.
BCL should become the longest circle metro line in the world, having overrun the current champion — the second circle line of the Beijing subway (57 kilometers).
BCL will connect existing and prospective radial lines at a distance of up to 10 kilometers from the existing Circle Line, which will allow unloading the first and second interchange circuits of the Moscow metro.
During the BCL construction, the technical solutions are being applied that will allow new metro radii to be attached to it, including:
— Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya line — at the station Narodnoye Opolchenie;
— Troitskaya line — at the station Novatorskaya;
— a promising line in Biryulyovo and Shcherbinka — on Klenovy Boulevard.
From the BCL stations, it will be possible to change to 20 stations of 11 other metro lines, four changes to the stations of the Moscow Central Circle, six changes to the Belorussko-Savelovsky and Kursko-Rizhsky metro stations, 11 changes to the railway line. The largest transport hubs of the Big Circle Line will be Delovoy Tsentr, Savelovskaya, Nizhegorodskaya, Novatorskaya and others.
The first ideas for the BCL construction date back to 1985. However, due to lack of resources and for other reasons, the project has not been started for 25 years.
The decision to start the BCL construction was made by Sergei Sobyanin. The line construction is divided into the following sections:
— north-west — from the Delovoy Tsentr station to Savelovskaya. Stages: Delovoy Tsentr — Petrovsky Park (the section is open to passengers from February 26, 2018), Petrovsky Park — Savelovskaya (the section is open to passengers from December 30, 2018);
— north-east — from Savelovskaya to Nizhegorodskaya. Stages: Nizhegorodskaya — Lefortovo (section is open to passengers from March 27, 2020), Lefortovo — Elektrozavodskaya (open to passengers from December 31, 2020), Elektrozavodskaya — Savelovskaya;
— western — from Khoroshevskaya to Kuntsevskaya station. Stages: Khoroshevskaya — Mnevniki (open for passengers from April 1, 2021), Mnevniki — Kuntsevskaya (open from December 7, 2021);
— southwest — from Kuntsevskaya to Prospekt Vernadskogo station. Stages: Aminevskaya — Prospekt Vernadskogo, Kuntsevskaya — Aminevskaya (open from December 7, 2021);
— southern — from the Prospekt Vernadskogo station to Kakhovskaya station including the reconstruction of the Kashirskaya — Kakhovskaya section (open from December 7, 2021);
— the eastern section from Kashirskaya station to Nizhegorodskaya.
By the end of this year, 22 stations connected by 44 kilometers of track (90 kilometers of single-track tunnels) have been opened. The circle total construction readiness is 88 percent. The tunneling has been completed by 99 percent.
Results of the Moscow Metro Construction Program Implementation
Since 2011, in the capital, the construction of 195.4 kilometers of lines, 100 new stations, three additional concourses, 11 electric engine houses and the MCC has been completed. The Moscow Metro network has grown 1.5 times. Together with Russian Railways JSC it was managed to put into operation MCD-1 and MCD-2 lines: 132 kilometers of tracks and 60 stations.
Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line:
— the section from Maryino station to Zyablikovo station (three stations);
— the section from Maryina Roshcha station to Seligerskaya (six stations);
— the second exit (concourse) of the Maryina Roshcha station;
— the second concourse of the Petrovsko-Razumovskaya station.
Kalininsko-Solntsevskaya line:
— the section from Novogireevo station to Novokosino station (one station);
— the section from Delovoy Tsentr station to Ramenki (five stations);
— the section from the Ramenki station to the Rasskazovka (seven stations).
Zamoskvoretskaya line:
— section from Krasnogvardeyskaya station to Alma-Atinskaya station (one station);
— Technopark station;
— the section from Rechnoy Vokzal station to Khovrino (two stations).
Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line:
— the section from Mitino station to Pyatnitskoye shosse (one station).
Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya line:
— section from Vykhino station to Kotelniki (three stations);
— Spartak station.
Butovskaya line:
— the section from Starokachalovskaya Ulitsa station to Bitsevsky Park (two stations).
Sokolnicheskaya line:
— the section from the station Yugo-Zapadnaya to the station Salarievo (three stations);
— the section from Salarievo station to Kommunarka (four stations).
Nekrasovskaya line:
— the section from Kosino station to Nekrasovka (four stations);
— the section from Nizhegorodskaya station to Kosino (three stations).
Big Circle Line:
— the section from Delovoy Tsentr station to Savelovskaya (six stations);
— the section from Nizhegorodskaya station to Lefortovo (three stations);
— the section from Lefortovo station to Elektrozavodskaya (one station);
— change between Petrovsky Park station of the Big Circle Line and Dynamo of the Zamoskvoretskaya line;
— the section from Khoroshevskaya station to Mnevniki (two stations);
— section from Mnevniki station to Davydkovo (three stations);
— the section from Davydkovo station to Prospekt Vernadskogo (three stations);
— the section from Prospekt Vernadskogo station to Kakhovskaya (four stations).
Filevskaya line:
— the second concourse of the Mezhdunarodnaya station.
Moscow Central Ring — 31 stations.
Moscow Central Diameters (MCD-1, MCD-2) — 60 stations, of which 20 stations are interchange stations on the metro, MCC and MCD lines.
Electric engine house (including reconstruction): Mitino, Brateyevo, Pechatniki, Vykhino, Planernoye, Nizhegorodskoye, Likhobory, Solntsevo, Vladykino, Rudnevo, Sokol.
