Sergei Sobyanin talks about a cinema block being set up around Ramenki

The Active Citizen project has finished a series of voting polls through which Muscovites selected the names for the new streets and metro stations. The largest thematic poll in the project's history collected about 10 million opinions. At the first stage, Muscovites had a chance to offer their own ideas. At the second stage, they voted for the most popular options. As a result, 28 locations in the city got their names: 13 streets and 15 Metro stations. 11 streets are in the Ramenki area. Sergei Sobyanin announced that in his blog.

“Ramenki is the heart of Soviet and Russian cinema. The Mosfilm studio has been operating there, on the street with the same name, for over 90 years. Small streets around it bear the names of cinema greats: Pyryev, Pudovkin and Dovzhenko. Right now, while new residential areas are being built in Ramenki, Muscovites are all for creating a real cinema block there,” Moscow Mayor noted.

Streets with the names of Sergei Bondarchuk, Leonid Gaidai, Anatoly Papanov, Oleg Tabakov, Vasily Lanovoy, Alexei Batalov, Yevgeny Yevstigneyev, Innokenty Smoktunovsky, Oleg Yankovsky, Faina Ranevskaya and Andrey Mironov will appear on the map.

The Active Citizen project has been operating since 2014. During this time, more than 5.8 million people have joined it. Participants decide which streets, courtyards, and parks need to be landscaped, what opening hours city polyclinics, libraries, multifunctional centers should have, or choose events for festivals and holidays.
