Sergei Sobyanin: Troika Travel Card becomes indispensable for Muscovites and residents of more than 25 Russian regions in 10 years

The Troika Travel Card is 10 years old. It has become indispensable for Muscovites and residents of more than 25 Russian regions over the past years, as announced by Sergei Sobyanin on his telegram channel.

“Passengers can use the Troika card on all the Moscow Transport turnstiles and validators since April 2, 2013. In the very first week, 200,000 cards were sold, and the number has exceeded 47 million in just 10 years,” said the Moscow Mayor.

The Troika Travel Card is a unified travel fare card were one can pay using the Wallet system. Last year, the first Troika cards with Russian microchips were manufactured.

In 2020 and 2021, international awards recognized the Moscow ticketing system as the smartest system in the world.
