The area around the Grand Sports Arena is now accessible only to athletes and pedestrians, making trainings safer. For visitors’ convenience, a drinking fountain has been installed on the central square, while showers are now available in the Southern and Northern Sports Centre buildings, the sports complex and the changing pavilion serving football pitches Nos. 7, 8 and 9. In addition, lockers for storing personal belongings are available in the Southern Sports Centre building and Pavilion No. 4.
Free running sessions are held on Luzhnetskaya Embankment as part of the My Sports District project.
By the end of the year, a sports ground with outdoor exercise equipment, including equipment for people with disabilities, will open between the Southern Sports Centre and Luzhnetsky Metro Bridge.
“We will create a skate park next to the festival square, and work on is already underway. Children’s themed areas dedicated to running, figure skating, tennis, and basketball are also to be installed along the embankment and near the Southern Sports Centre,” Sergei Sobyanin adds.
