Sergei Sobyanin: Vascular prostheses production launches for patients all over Russia
Production of medical textile structures for artificial blood vessels launches in Moscow for patients from all over the country. The manufacturing laboratory was established by Medtekhnoproekt in association with Kosygin Russian State University, Sergei Sobyanin shares on his MAX channel.
The new site has the full production cycle streamlined. It develops and produces biopolymer vascular prostheses with the use of textile structures.
“In a nutshell, it is a tube made of special threads woven in a certain way, which makes the walls of the future implant both thin and flexible, yet minimally stretchable. Such prothesis can serve the user throughout their whole life, considerably prolonging their life considering the medical recommendations,” says the Moscow Mayor.

“Moscow-based production will provide for the needs of hospitals all over the country, as well as establish export channels. The manufacturing company is a member of the Moscow Innovation Cluster,” adds Sergei Sobyanin.
