In September, authorities will launch passenger service on the first section of the Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya Line, encompassing five stations—Delovoy Tsentr, Shelepikha, Zvenigorodskaya, Narodnoye Opolcheniye, and Bulvar Generala Karbysheva.

Since 2011, Moscow has got more than 270 kilometers of lines, 127 new or renovated stations, and 14 train depots, including the Brateevo Carriage Repair Plant, for the Moscow Metro and the Moscow Central Circle (MCC); the metro network has almost doubled as a result, Sergei Sobyanin shares on his Max channel.

“This year, metro construction has reached its fastest pace in five years. Over seven months, our workers excavated 14.7 kilometers of tunnels, with twenty-five stations under construction and ten TBMs in operation. They have also finished tunneling operations to extend the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya Line and have built the Golyanovo station. In addition, a decision was made to extend it further beyond the Moscow Ring Road — to reach the Vostochny District,” the Moscow Mayor wrote.

In September 2026, authorities will launch passenger service on the first section of the Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya Line, encompassing five stations — Delovoy Tsentr, Shelepikha, Zvenigorodskaya, Narodnoye Opolcheniye, and Bulvar Generala Karbysheva, spanning 8.7 kilometers of tracks.

Moreover, plans through 2030 include the construction of 69.1 kilometers of lines, 29 stations, and three train depots. All of the metro stations are either in the design or construction stage. Workers are also continuing construction on the Troitskaya and Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya Lines, plus the Circle Line’s Dostoevskaya station, and are excavating tunnels for the Biryulyovskaya Line, too, with twenty-five metro stations underway and ten mechanized TBMs in operation over the seven-month period.

On top of that, they have completed tunneling operations to extend the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya Metro Line and have built a new terminal station of Golyanovo. In July, Sergei Sobyanin ordered that the line be extended beyond the Moscow Ring Road to reach the Vostochny District.
