Over 200,000 patients in total, including 15,000 children, received high-tech healthcare services in Moscow last year. That is over 6 times more than in 2010.

Moscow increases its specialized and high-tech healthcare (HTHC) services output annually. Modern minimally invasive methods and shortened hospital stays, the most advanced medical devices and continuous professional training contribute to this process. Sergei Sobyanin announced this on his Max channel.

“High-tech healthcare services across 20 medical fields are provided by 32 hospitals in the city. Over 129,000 patients received these services last year. There were over 200,000 such patients in total in Moscow, including 15,000 children. That’s over 6 times more than in 2010,” the Moscow Mayor wrote.

Last year, the HTHC services list was expanded to include new methods in traumatology and orthopedics, cardiovascular surgery, hematology, pediatrics, including revision joint replacement for patients with extensive bone defects that uses custom-made prosthetics manufactured via additive 3D technologies.

In total, over 4,000 robot-assisted surgeries were performed in 2025, which is twice as many as the year before. Over 97% of those surgeries concerned cancer patients. On top of that, 835 Gamma Knife surgeries took place.

Moscow’s hospitals continue to update their pools of heavy-duty healthcare equipment. In particular, 278 units of high-tech medical equipment were purchased under lifecycle contracts in 2025, including MRI and CT machines, x-ray units, angiography systems, ultrasound diagnostic systems, video endoscopes, etc.
