Sergei Sobyanin: Moscow launches the fountain season

Moscow has launched the traditional fountain season, as announced by Sergei Sobyanin on his MAX channel.
“Engineers were making preparations for the launch almost throughout April. They repaired engineering systems, pumping stations and hydraulic units. Fountain bowls were washed and filled with water,” the Moscow Mayor writes.

The capital is home to hundreds of fountains, including dry, semi-dry, floating, musical and illuminating jets. This year, it has got another fountain in Luzhniki’s central square that served as an ice rink in the wintertime. The 3,500 m2 fountain features water spilling over the edges of the reservoir, creating the effect of a boundless surface. During the daytime, it will be calm, but at nights those who choose to visit Luzhniki will enjoy an impressive light and music show.
In 2025, the local authorities renovated the main water jet in Sokolniki Park, refurbished the Music of Glory fountain complex in Kuzminki, restored the dry fountain in Dubrava Park and built an illuminating sailboat fountain system near Ivanovskiye Ponds. Now the city has even more stunning photo spots to capture some bright moments.
