Sergei Sobyanin: An public health screening program involving endocopy examinations has been launched in Moscow
Such procedures enable the early detection of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and pathologies that may develop into cancer.

Four years ago, the first endoscopic center in the capital opened at Moscow’s Botkin Multidisciplinary Research and Clinical Center. Sergei Sobyanin wrote about the new program in a post on his Telegram channel.

“Residents of the city have begun to receive high-quality diagnostics tests for GI tract diseases, with everything possible done to ensure the patient’s comfort. Thanks to this, more cancers are being detected at a very early stage,” wrote the Mayor of Moscow.

A little later, three more endoscopy centers were opened, at the V. M. Buyanov City Clinical Hospital, the Moscow Kommunarka Multidisciplinary Clinical Center and the A.S. Loginov Moscow Clinical Research Center.

The centers have already conducted more than 700,000 tests and detected more than four thousand malignant neoplasms at zero and early stages.

All examinations are performed using the most accurate equipment and under mild sedation to minimize patient discomfort. The time spent in the endoscopy center does not exceed two hours.

About a month ago, a new health screening project involving endoscopic examinations was launched in pilot mode. The examinations enable the early detection of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and pathologies that may develop into cancer.

Moscow residents who have not had gastro and colonoscopy examinations for several years are referred for examinations. More than 20,000 people have already undergone these procedures.
