The charging infrastructure is located at the final stops on bus routes and at the operating sites of the Mosgortrans State Unitary Enterprise. This enables the electric bus routes to operate without interruption. Currently, the UFC station network has 395 charging stations with a capacity of 300 kilowatts, of which more than 40 have been installed since the beginning of this year. Plans have been agreed and funding has been allocated for the installation of around 400 more stations.
This year, it is also planned to conclude contracts for the technological connection of another 117 UFC stations to the power network, and these will be installed in 2027. The timing of the work is synchronized with the plans to provide the network with add additional electric buses. Thus, by the end of 2027, the total number of UFC stations will exceed 900 units.
Moscow is a leader in Europe in terms of the number of electric buses. Today, there are more than 2,350 of these environmentally friendly urban transportation vehicles, which have replaced diesel buses, has operating on 212 routes. Between 2025 and 2027, 1,100 electric buses are scheduled for delivery.
In 2024, 207.4 million trips (representing a total of 75.4 million kilometers) were made on electric buses, a 50 percent increase over 2023.
