The modernization of the capital’s power supply system is continuing. Sergei Sobyanin introduced the news in a post on his Telegram channel.

“This helps to ensure the stable operation of Moscow’s entire power system, which includes 145,000 kilometers of power lines, 188 feeding centers and 23,000 distribution and transformer substations,” the Mayor of Moscow wrote.

According to him, energy consumption in the capital is constantly decreasing.

In 2025, special attention is paid to increasing the efficiency and security of the power supply system, as well as creating additional capacity reserves. Large-scale work is being carried out to this end.

In particular, four combined heat and power plants are being modernized: CHPP-21, CHPP-22, CHPP-23 and CHPP-25. The work will extend the service life of the equipment and reduce specific fuel consumption. In addition, specialists are reconstructing two historical facilities, the Central and Raushskaya substations, and the Lebedevo substation in the Troitsky and Novomoskovsky Administrative District.

The reconstruction of the Golyanovo substation and the replacement of cable lines under the Moskva River which were laid 70 years ago have now been completed.

By the end of the year, it is planned to upgrade more than 350 kilometers of cable lines and lay over 80 kilometers of backup lines for distribution and transformer substations.
