Sergei Sobyanin: Four big sports festivals will be held in Moscow this year

Sergei Sobyanin has signed a resolution on the Moscow City Government’s support for four large-scale sporting events to be held this year.

“Moscow is a real city of sports. We create all conditions for lovers of active lifestyle: from playgrounds near the house to major city events,” wrote the Mayor of Moscow on his Telegram channel.

Big Run Fest — July 2025

For example, the Big Run Fest will be held in July. This major running event will be a grand urban celebration with immersive sports excursions, live music, competitions, quizzes and a food court. Those who wish to participate will be able to run three distances: five, 10 and 15 kilometers along the Garden Ring. Up to 100,000 people are expected to take part in the races.

Extreme Moscow City Games (September 2025)

The main event of the summer for fans of extreme sports will bring together athletes from more than 15 countries. The program includes moto freestyle on motorcycles and snowmobiles, stunt riding, a stage of the Russian BMX Cup, the Russian roller sports championship, the Workout World Cup and parkour competitions. 

As part of the festival, ramps for rollers, scooters and BMXs will be created, as well as a pump track and a flatland zone. Those who wish will be able to listen to DJs and live bands, spend time in the recreation areas and have a snack at the food court. More than 45,000 guests are expected. 

Cyberzarnica (September 2025)

A large-scale festival, whose participants will be able to test their skills in tactical shooting, UAV control, sports orienteering and other disciplines. There will also be tournaments and a CS2 showmatch. About 50,000 participants are expected. 

Alexei Nemov’s Legends of Sports gymnastics show (October 2025)

This theatrical show created by Olympic champion Alexei Nemov will combine sports, artistic, aerial and aesthetic gymnastics, acrobatics and circus arts. The event has been held since 2006. 

This year’s show will be held at the A.V. Tarasov Megasport Palace of Sports. It will bring together more than 450 athletes, including Olympic, world and European champions. As in previous years, there will be at least four thousand spectators.
