A modern embankment is to be constructed near Tushino airfield

A planning proposal for a 6.88 hectare section of the Moskva riverside adjacent to the former Tushino airfield has been approved. The corresponding decree has been signed by Sergei Sobyanin.
The project involves the reinforcement of the riverbank along a 2,160 meter pedestrian promenade. Specialists will also restore the soil layer and perform landscaping works.
The creation of the embankment is part of a large-scale plan for the integrated development of the territory of the former Tushino airfield, where a modern urban area is now being built.
More than three million square meters of real estate is to be built on the territory of over 245 hectares, including residential buildings, 16 educational facilities, a polyclinic and a sports rehabilitation center, an Orthodox church, a hotel and an apart-hotel, public and business facilities, and a soccer stadium and other sports facilities. More than 70 thousand jobs will be created.
As part of the project, urban public spaces—parks and the Moskva River embankment — will be created.

To ensure the transport accessibility of the new district, a new metro station, Spartak, on the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya line was opened in 2014, and the reconstruction of Volokolamskoye highway was completed in 2021.
In 2014, the first major facility was commissioned on the territory of the former airfield—the Spartak football stadium, with 45,000 seats. In 2017, a training facility was added nearby, including six outdoor football fields and a parking lot. In 2018, the arena hosted some of the FIFA World Cup matches.
In 2021, a multifunctional sports complex, Chkalov Arena, was constructed.
In addition, construction of the residential complex Tushino Riverside City-2018, and the first phases of the ALIA Residential Complex and Holland Park Residential Complex have been completed. Moreover, an Orthodox church, a spiritual and cultural center, five kindergartens and two schools have been built.
In 2023, the developer implemented the first stage of improvement of the largest green zone in the future neighborhood—Primavera Ecopark, located on the bank of the Moskva River. The project includes the creation of an outdoor amphitheater, the installation of view swings, observation decks, river access points and a scenic walkway along the water’s edge.
The construction of residential buildings, schools and kindergartens and the upgrading of the Moskva River embankment is still ongoing.
