Mayor Sobyanin: Metro, MCC and ground transport to continue services throughout New Year’s Eve

According to the recent tradition, the metro, the Moscow Central Circle (MCC), and the most popular ground public transport routes will continue services on the night of December 31 — January 1 without interruption.
“On New Year’s Eve, from 8:00 pm until 06:00 am, travel on the metro, MCC and ground public transport will be free of charge. Passengers will be carried on 140 of the most popular ground transport routes and 18 regular night routes. We will also extend the MCD services until three o’clock in the morning,” the Moscow Mayor writes on his Telegram channel.

The established fares will apply on the MCDs.
With night services of the metro, MCC and surface transport, Muscovites and tourists will be able to celebrate the New Year at home or away from home and then continue the celebration on the streets and in parks.
Moreover, the metro will run a live broadcast of Vladimir Putin’s New Year’s address, so passengers will listen to it while on escalators and in station lobbies. In addition, Sergei Sobyanin’s congratulations will be broadcast on screens in the metro and ground transport.
On the night of January 6 — 7, the operating hours of public transport will be extended, too, as the Moscow Metro and the MCC will offer services until 2:00 am and ground public transport will be available until 3:30 am. There will also be eighteen night routes operating as usual.
MCD trains will run until 3:00 am on the Christmas night.
On the holidays (December 30, 2024 — January 8, 2025), paid parking space will be free, except for closed parking lots with a barrier.
Security to be strengthened everywhere in transport. Passengers are urged to be understanding about possible inspections and checks.
