Sergei Sobyanin talks about new exclusively designed metro stations

New Moscow metro stations have remarkable designs, Sergei Sobyanin writes on his Telegram channel.
“The capital is often referred to as the City of Seven Hills. Moscow is really located on hilly terrain crossed by rivers. This is a challenge for metro designers who need to take into account the landscape. So they may need a non-standard project format in view of nearby infrastructure or for the purpose of convenient transfers,” noted Moscow Mayor.

The most unusual metro stations include, in particular, Michurinsky Prospekt on the Solntsevskaya Line, Moscow’s first semi-underground station, with one of its track walls being made blank, while the other is glass, offering a panoramic view of the city. The station has three levels, a platform and tracks situating on Level l, with a Level II observation deck along with a passage and Level III technical rooms. Another semi-underground station, Pykhtino, has been recently launched on the same line.
Both track walls of the Olkhovaya station on the Sokolnicheskaya line separate it from the road tunnel. The design said to be very exclusive for the country.
The Nizhegorodskaya cross-platform station, Russia’s only five-bay four-track station, offers services on both the Nekrasovskaya and Bolshaya Koltsevaya metro lines. It has been integrated into Moscow’s largest in-city commuter terminal, which links the metro, the Moscow Central Circle and the Moscow Central Diameter.
