Sergei Sobyanin trumpets new BCL record

The double-track tunnels of the Big Circle Line (BCL) are recorded as the longest metro tunnels in the Russian Book of Records, as announced by Sergei Sobyanin on his Telegram channel.
“Behind this achievement is the work of many designers, builders and other professionals who laid more than 11.5 kilometers of double-track tunnels in the west and east of the big circle, where the new line crosses large water reservoirs. The longest underwater runs are between Klenovy Boulevard, Nagatinsky Zaton and Pechatniki stations,” wrote the Moscow Mayor.

It took 10 years to create the Big Circle Line, which is a very short time period for such an ambitious and highly sophisticated project.
Now the BCL is one of the most popular metro lines; it has changed the Moscow transport system, offering transfers to other metro lines, the Moscow Central Circle (MCC), the Moscow Central Diameters (MCD), and rail transport.
