In February 2021, the International Medical Cluster hosted an educational center. It promotes the implementation of the best Russian and foreign modern practices in the activities of medical institutions, professional development of medical personnel and the availability of foreign educational programs for all Russian specialists.

Together with Tüv Austria, the largest Austrian company providing certification for compliance with quality and safety standards worldwide, the MMC educational center plans to launch a professional development program for managers in healthcare. Compliance with international standards will allow creating a reliable quality management system in the capital and improving the efficiency of care provided in Moscow medical institutions.

The educational center has already started, and will also be launched in the near future:

• advanced training program for ultrasound diagnostics doctors (jointly with GE Healthcare, USA);
• educational program for pathologists and oncologists (together with the histological laboratory of UNIM, Russia);
• Molecular Oncology advanced training program (jointly with UNIM and Skoltech);
• interdisciplinary scientific and educational project to improve the quality of diagnosis of multiple sclerosis by ophthalmologists, obstetricians, gynecologists, neurologists and radiologists (together with Merck, Germany);
• anatomical courses based on cadaveric materials for doctors in traumatology, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, dentistry, maxillofacial surgery, otorhinolaryngology and cosmetology (together with the Symbiotech company (Belarus), the ICLO Educational and Research Center (Italy) and the Priorov National Medical Research Center of Traumatology and Orthopedics).

The Foundation of the International Medical Cluster, together with the Russian Society of Endoscopic Surgeons, is preparing a system of phased and intermediate accreditation with the inclusion of mastered practical skills in the accreditation certificate issued after the intermediate accreditation.

During 2018−2020, more than 40 events were held with the participation of foreign experts: seminars on quality standards of medical care (with experts from the Netherlands), management conferences (with experts from hospitals and the Israeli Ministry of Health), a practical lecture and workshop on the management of simulation hospitals (with an expert from the United States), as well as a number of training events on coronavirus.

Meetings of the discussion club are held on a regular basis, where chief doctors and industry experts from around the world discuss acute issues facing Russian healthcare.

The Hadassah Clinic invites leading specialists from the mother clinic, who not only receive patients, but also give lectures for Russian doctors. Within the framework of the Let’s Talk about Medicine project, Polina Stepensky — the Head of Bone Marrow Transplantation and Cancer Immunotherapy Department of the Israeli Hadassah clinic, Beatrice Uzieli — the Head of the Hadassah Oncology Clinic, Shimon Rohkind — the leading Israeli neurosurgeon, Eitan Kerem — the Director of the Hadassah Children’s clinic, and others shared their experience. In addition, the international medical cluster, together with the Hadassah mother clinic, organized the arrival of nursing staff from Israel to the Sklifosovsky Institute of Emergency Medicine to compare the functions of nurses in the two countries. A comparative analysis of the Hadassah Hospital and the Sklifosovsky Research Institute nursing services showed significant differences in their functions. In addition, Nurse of the Future conference was held jointly with the Hadassah clinic, and a school of nurses based on the experience of the Israeli nursing service work was opened to expand the functionality and more actively involve nurses into the treatment process.

The cluster, together with the Ministry of Health of Russia, is also engaged in training specialists for medical institutions participating in the Export of Medical Services national project. At educational events, the best cases, the process of building a brand, the formation of a competitive product and practical tools are analyzed. Seminars are held with the participation of specialists from Israel, Spain, France, Germany, South Korea.

The International Medical Cluster took part in the fight against COVID-19. Thus, six online conferences were held, during which experts from Russia and other countries could share their experience in pandemic response. In addition to organizing conferences, MMC has deployed a simulation center in the new Voronovskoye Moscow Clinical Center of Infectious Diseases (MCCID), which allowed more than 400 hospital employees to conduct training on cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

In the simulation center, doctors will be able to get additional education and learn more about innovative foreign practices. The simulation center is equipped with patient-robots that take into account anatomical and physiological features and respond to drugs similar to the human body. Patient-robots are designed to train various manipulations: for operations, diagnostic procedures and resuscitation measures.

Pediatricians and neonatologists together with resuscitators have the opportunity to hone their skills on robotic patients — adolescents and newborns. A dynamic simulator with a reanimobile equipped with all the necessary equipment is provided for ambulance employees.

Virtual simulators for hysteroscopy (a surgical procedure that is regularly used in gynecology) are equipped with a computer that, if necessary, tells the doctor the correct way to perform the procedure. The creation of simulators based on virtual reality technologies allows us to achieve good results: to improve the quality of training of doctors, reduce costs for it and reduce the number of medical errors.

The equipment for the simulation center is made in Russia by an innovative company, whose products are supplied to European countries and Japan. The training is based on programs developed jointly with leading foreign medical schools.

During the pandemic, the specialists of the MMС Foundation organized an on-site simulation center on the territory of the Voronovskoye MCCID. It allows employees to be trained on special simulators that simulate the features of the new coronavirus infection course at patients.

The possibility of simulating the main clinical situations, practicing the skills of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, intubation (simulators are easily integrated with a real ventilator) and subsequent assessment of the level of exercise performance, analysis of all actions and mistakes with a teacher allow specialists to help coronavirus patients even more effectively.
